need help with cams!?
I recently put in a set of CTR cams w/gears. So I set the crank pulley to TDC, but the belt fell off. I then put the belt back on and set the the crank to TDC. is there a marking somewhere else on the belt that should match up? How do I set the head to TDC? or does TDC only apply to the crank. thanks for the help.

when you put the cams in, you shouldve checked to see which lobes were pressing on which valves...and have that lined up properly with the cam gears set at 0 and 0.

I thought for the cam sprokets to be set at TDC they have to be facing up, as in the the woodruff keys facing up? Also, the only marking on the gears is a slash cut where the timing marks are. Do those align horizontally to be at TDC? thanks for the help guys.

Are you saying that the "UP" markings on the gears, as well as the slash cut marking, should not be at a right angle with the ground? That wouldn't be proper TDC? How do you find out the exact angle at which the gears should be set?

Never done honda cams, only VW and Nissan. The outside of the valve cover should have TDC markings to line up with the cam gears (in the case of the VW) Also make sure you have the distributor at TDC as well, otherwise your car will not start. All you have to do is leave the belt on the crank pulley, then make sure all of the parts (crank, cams, and distributor) are at TDC, then put the belt on, tighten the tensioner, and you're good to go.
