Default Think it's strut time on a 96 RL - Any help

Everyone,

I'm about to put new struts on my 96 RL with 101,000 miles. Does anyone know a couple of things like:

- What type best replaces the factories?
- Where's the best place to purchase them?
- Is there anything partcular I need to know before I do the job?

This is my first RL and let me tell you, I love the baby. If they all drive like this after 99K miles, I'll continue to buy them. Bought mine for $9500 two months ago.

Thanks,
Brently

well i can tell you it is pretty easy to take them out. Front: two bolts on the bottom and three on the top get the struts out. Rent a spring compressor from a local parts store and depress the spring then take the upper strut bolt off. Rear: Take the speaker grille off the the rear deck and take out the speaker (watch the tint on the back window when pulling out the speaker the magnet may stick to the body so don't pull to hard. One bolt on the bottom and three on the top. do the same as the front. If I were you I would not buy cheap struts get them from Acura.

Thanks Juiced,

I somewhat figured that - I have the helms manual and replaced a few sets on my earlier accords. Last question, think I can keep the old springs? They have 100k on them.

My wife loves your ride, by the way.
