Default Should I get a TL?

Hi my name is Robert and I was wondering if I should buy a 99 TL? It would be for 13877 and would have 78k mi. It would be black on black with everything including navi. I was wondering what you guys thought of the car and if it has too many miles on it or what. Just a newb to Acuras and wondering if it is a worthwile car to get.

Thanks,
Robert

Should you? Depends on what you're looking for. What are your perogatives with a car? IE, do you like sport over luxury?

The 1999-2003 TL is a great car. I can't comment on if it's a good value, but it sure sounds like one. What other cars are you considering?

I currently own a 97 Toyota Avalon and am looking for something that keeps the luxuary and reliabilty but adds some sport. Mainly I wanna keep a soft ride with some speed and options since my avalon is a base model.

The TL would be a great step up then. It has tons of features, classy exterior styling, and a great interior. The 225HP 3.2L VTEC V6 is a great engine. Just FYI, the 260HP Type-S model was added in 2002. What exactly is your price range, if you don't mind me asking?

I would advise you to also look at the 98-2002 Accord Coupe EX-V6 or the 97-99 Acura CL if you don't mind having only two doors. Same as the TL, just in coupe form and with more sporty intentions. And you may like the looks better. But you can't get much more value than you can with a TL

I really like the navi and I have always owned a sedan, so i think keeping these considerations in mind would be good for me.

I say go for it. Since you want a soft suspension, don't go for the Type-S. The suspension is sportier and not as soft. You may not like it if your more into luxury than sport. It is by no means harsh or anything but definetly stiffer than you are use to with your avalon.

Type-S wasn't available until 2002 :slap:

The 99 TL had a 4-speed auto transmission, and startihg in 2000 the TL got a 5 speed auto, but from what I read on various forums, the 5 speed auto tranny had some reported "problems", which were not as prevalent on the 99 models. So the 99 would be my choice over a 2000 if I was to look for a used TL.
