Default two 10" alpine e or 1 12" apline r

Hey i was wondering what you guys thought. I have a 96 civic dx and i have two 12" lightning audio's in there and they suck and weigh a ****in ton. Especially the box. My main reason for upgrading is sound but i also want to lose a lot of that weight that those two 12" are taking up. I was wondering what you guys thought of either two 10" alpine type e's or one 12" alpine type r. Keep in mind i want great sound and i still dont want a lot of weight im going out today to buy them so any info would be great. I need your opinions asap. Thanks in advance

I don't know if this is too late to be helpful, but in case you didn't buy them yesterday, I would say go with one 12" type-r.

I agree with the JL 12W3...best sub for the money. But between two 10" e's or 1 12" r...the R will own the e's in low end and volume (if you have enough power).

I would think most of the weight is coming from the box more than the sub. I wouldn't buy any sub because its the lighter one. In your case then i would probably got with just one 12.
