Hands down the worst car I have ever owned. It has been in the shop 4 times in 4 months. They can't fix it half the time since its self diagnostic system is also as reliable as the rest of the car. Garbage.

Some sort of short in the tranny, keeps flashing between "Gearbox Neutral" and "High Mode". Like ten times in ten feet sometimes. Also the rear hatch latch fell apart. And the air suspension faulted again. Sounds like some module fault problems. Who knows.

Just got a call from the dealer. All these have went bad:
Transmission selection motor
Air Suspension Fault Sensor Module
Dash Panel

The warranty repair estimate is so high that Land Rover is actually sending someone out to look at it.

I've rebuilt the steering assembly on one of those, and all I can say is HOLY HELL THAT'S THE BIGGEST SET OF BALL JOINTS I'VE EVER SEEN. What is solid on those things is pretty much untouchable by everything else. But Land Rover doesn't make the electronics because they haven't figured out how to make them leak oil.

When the gear selector switch goes bad in a Ford F-150, it does pretty much the same thing as you described except it also likes to downshift into 2nd gear when you're going 80.

There is a MINT one near me that is truly rigged to please. Looked it up and was like OH FAWK thems are $$$. He is always gone for long stretches of time too.

He isn't. Extended warranty companies always come out to inspect large claims. Instrument pack his Rover needs is 1k alone, not to mention the rest of the parts and labor.

D90 and D60
Have less electronics than their soccer mom counterparts and are inherently more reliable for it. They are also a much higher status symbol especially since the introduction of their other more tamed models such as the Discovery (flaming POS as most know it).

I personally would get the D60 before the 90 but that's personal choice and only if I were doing expedition type wheeling and only in diesel.

It was a CPO...I can't believe how many problems it's had tho. Tony is way cool though, in fact the intire service department is awesome. That is the only reason I haven't gone nuts.
