Buy a netbook for school. Build a real desktop. Save money.

what you mean "cant" take it to school?

you tlaking to class? dude if you're going to a school for 3d animation and they dont have labs for you to work in you better question where you're going to school. if you mean in a dorm? then yea ... yea you can.

but still, if you are at a school for 3d animation they will have lab machines that you can work on. i still say build a desktop for your rendering. i think you'll regret buying a laptop for that use

Newer laptops are ok. Get a high-end gaming one. It will be enough for 3D work. The only thing you need to watch out for is laptop heat and hard drive space.

3D rendering speed is all about how much memory and hard drive space you have. If possible get a high capacity external hard drive.

ya thats what i want to avoid, the teacher/class REQUIRES a laptop... So its not really a option/choice.
