I think I need new struts
99 ls stock. When I back out of the driveway over the curb, I hear a scraping grinding noise. I don't think I am scraping the bottom of the car. I have about 130k on the car and have had it for about a 1 1/2 years. How hard is it to change the struts? I just want to stay stock.

Its fairly easy. I would recommend to get a Repair Manual, preferably a Helms. There are also DIY's that you can look at in the DIY section and just by searching online. You will need jackstands, a socket set, a spring compressor, a breaker bar, and some penetrant fluid, I recommend PB Blaster.

are you talkin about a grinding squek noise, my gs is a 5spd so in the driveway i naturally put the ebrake up and when i let the brake go it catches making that noise and every time i get out of the car it squeaks. im redoing the entire suspension within the next 2 months, and if you do it yourself, find someone to help you, and maybe they had done it before. makes the job 1000x easier.
