Default Could it be a real oil seaL? Thank you very much, Linda..

Hi, I have a 2002 honda accord v6 auto. There is a motor oil leak and it appears to be coming from the bottom of the motor between the motor and bellhousing. There is a small inspection plate located there that I have removed and it has motor oil on it, and inside the bellhousing. I've removed the plate cleaned really good and left it for a few days, and reinspected it and there was fresh motor oil again. The car has 70,000mi. on it. Could it be a real oil seaL? Thank you very much, Linda..

anything is possible sometimes. I wouldn't think already but then with 70K on the clock thats a good amount of wear on the engine. Nothing extreme obviously but without taking the tranny off there's no real way to know for sure. I would say yes though, since there really is no other oil seal near between those two. Might also want to check the disty for leaks or the cam seals. Sorry to sound stupid but i don't rememeber if those year accords have coil packs or coil on plug.
