Default cabin air filter change

Anybody change the cabin air filter on a 2001 RL? I think I can see it (I disconnected the "flap" in the glove box) but it looks like major dashboard surgery to get at it.
Thanks

Read your owners manual, mine for my 96 RL says it is as easy as removing the "flap" in the glove box.

Unfortunatly the manual that comes with the car is useless, "says change the filter every 12 mo" but thats it. I looked around for a better manual but could only find a "generic" Chiltons that covered the CL/TL/RL. I specifically looked for "changing the cabin air filter" and couldnt find any helpful info.

When I remove the "flap" in the glove compartment, I can see the filter but there are a LOT of pieces in the way... When I get some free time I may try to remove the internal portion of the glove box and maybe its easier than it looks. For now its not that big a deal, just though maybe someone on the board had been through it before and could share the experience.
