Default help tranny noise....

Well for one, my synchros are dying slowly but surely.....but im not too worried about that

Its the meshy sound my tranny makes now that scares me!!!

Example - If i am just rolling with the clutch in and in 1st gear, i get a 'meshy' type sound....just from rolling

When I am driving and give it gas in first, it stats out muffled but then the tranny/motor get pretty loud....

This is hard to explain but someone i know is having similar problems...

Any ideas? I really dont want to spend any money on this motor (longer i will have to wait for a swap...) but i dont want my damn tranny to break in the mean time

please help!!! i only have 60,000 ****ing miles on this POS!!!

WTF does "messy" mean? id it like a growl? Normally it's the output bearing, and it's cheaper to replace the tranny than rebuild. But it could also be the pilot bearing or the throw out bearing... Those are the most common causes of tranny noise.

Normally bearings won't do anything that will leave you stranded. They just get continually louder until it's so sloppy that it won't do jack. Mine sounded like ass for almost a year before I did anything.

More than likely it's the throwout bearing. Turn on the car and leave it in neutral . More than likely you can hear the sound a little. Depress the clutch and if the sound goes away then it's probably the throwout bearing. I have that problem right now.
