Default A couple VERY serious questions.....

I have 2 questions which I need real answers for.....SOON!

1) My right front wheels' lug bolt is stripped about 1/3 of the way. The nut won't tighten on there. Is there some way to replace that cheaply and easily? Is it ok to drive with only 3 nuts tightened?

2) My car revs from about 800-2800 when I first start it until about 5 min of driving. After that, its fine. Occasionaly, I will do it on the road, but if I rev it up to 4k or more it will act normal and rev about 800 rpms. Do I need a new fuel pump or something? How much will it cost and where do I get it done?

Thanks!
Spike

Default SCORE!

1) Hey thanks. I'll wait till after Xmas when I can get $100. I'll just keep checking the tightness occasionaly.

My 2nd Q was: My car revs up and down from 800 rpms to 25 rpms when I first start after its been sitting. After about 5 min, it stops. Whats wrong?

Thanks again!

its only about $20..not $100...$100 would get you 2 new brembo rotors...not just the stud

your second question kinda sounds like your fast idle is loose,..its located under your throttle body,...dont quote me on it being your fast idle though

you just need to get a new stud tapped in....if it's on the front it should only be about 30-40 bucks at pep boys or firestone.

i've found the lug nuts to be around $6-7 at a local shop. it's really easy to replace. u just need some silicon spray, rubber mallet or hammer (to pound out the old ones), impact wrench (but not necessary,.. just makes it easier) and new bolts. i've done it several times... fairly simple.
