Default Tl-s Mpg

1. The Acura TL-S brochure sez 19/29.
2. On my first tank, I got 23.1, primarily highway, MPG.
3. My somewhat penurious wife sez "OUTRAGEOUS; should
have been at least 26!"
4. I say, "but honey, I think 23.1 is entirely reasonable".
5. What say you?

Thanx

29-19=10
10/2=5
19+5=24 avg.

If you are getting anywhere near 24 then consider yourself lucky.

I have friends who drive Lexus IS300s and they get only 18/25 yet have a smaller engine and a lighter body.

Keep in mind the 24mpg can only be achieved if you use a very light foot. Anything higher would mean that you are constantly driving in 5th gear travelling no faster than the fixed cruising speed of 70 mph (the faster you go the more friction due to drag).

Hey have you broken in the car yet? Is it right off the lot? If it is brand new you need to break it in the first 3000kms properly before you can expect to get the good gas milage.

:werd: I drive about 90% highway at 80mph and I'm averaging around 23 mpg. Once you mix in city driving... even just a little... expect that to be around 21mpg or so. If you drive nice and relaxed you should be able to get over 25mpg easy.. but it's hard to stay off the throttle in this car!!
