1.7 El 2003
I just purchased a 2003 EL and love it! The ride is stiffer that I am used to but I do enjoy the sporty handling.
Anyone know where I can buy winter tire rims? I am planning on buying Micheline Arctic Alpins at Costco. They are $20-$30 per tire cheaper than most tire shops in the Ottawa area. They don't carry steel rims however.
A co-worker has 4 winter tires on rims from a 1994 Intergra. They are 14", any idea if they can be made to fit? Price is great if they are useable.

I got a 97 1.6 EL and I have 195/55R15 tires for summer. I don't know if it is the same tire size for your 2003 1.7EL but I guess so. There's no problem in putting 14 inches tire for winter. You must get 185/65R14.
However, I do not recommend Michelin artic Alpine. They are made for ice, and not for snow. You'll hate driving with these tires.
You cab do what you want, but I bought the sumitomo at costco, ans I really liked them.
They made there proof that time we had all this snow, and they are cheaper.
So think about it dude
