Default '92 Legend question

Hi, I'm new to the forum here and I do have a question.

I'll tell you about the car first:

:-92 Legend
:-2 door
:-black leather int
:-all options
:-5 speed standard
:-white pearl paint

Ok, heres the question,
How do I remove the center console?
I'm not sure on how to remove the stick shift.
Does it twist off?
The leather boot for the shifter is moulded into the console and I dont want to remove it if I don't know what I am doing or even how to put it back on.

The reason I need to do this is because I need to get into the wiring for the stereo.
Any help with this would be great.

Should be able to pull the boot + chrome piece down from the knob itself. then the knob threads off normally.

The console piece over the shifter has two screws underneath the ashtray they have black heads so they are more difficult to see and a lot of people break them. the rest of that piece is clipped in.

Then its just a matter of screws on the side of the console etc.

Yea piss poor design for the material they used on that bottom side of the tray, but better the small size holes than the HUGE ones you would make if you didnt take them out
