Default What solvent for buffing wheel when polishing headlights?

I'm currently using a buffing wheel and I've tried mothers metal polisher on the headlights as well as Meguires Scratch X. Neither have done anything that I couldn't have done myself. The lights still look yellowish.

I went to a Honda dealership a long time ago and the guy used a solvent and a buffing wheel and made it look crystal clear. I never asked him what solvent he used cause at the time I didn't think that I would need to do it again but, now the lights are about yellow now.

Any suggestions for something I can pick up at Autozone or Discount.
Thanks

you can wet sand them with 2000 or 2500 grit first then buff them with a compound .

ps sand in one direction only
