working on my turbo....opinions
ok, heres my winter project. COMPLETLEY re-build my D17 into a high 12 sec ride. my goal is to sucessfully run 20 PSI and achieve 12's from an SOHC car.
T3 60 trim garret turbo
Deltagate wastegate
Greddy B.O.V.
Custom turbo manifold
Front mount intercooler
Custom tubing for intercooler
Oil line kit
Custom downpipe
Custom exhaust
20 psi clamps
HEAD WORK:
Port and polished
4 angle valve job
Lighter and 2 mm bigger valves
Bored exhaust ports to equal intake as much as possible
BLOCK WORK:
Bored and sleeved block
Lower compression racing JE pistons
Can't find rods yet (i might have to stick with shot peened but they are only good for 9-11 psi when I find rods i will be running 18-20 psi and the motor will be good for almost 30)
studed the head (instead of bolts)
INTAKE MANIFOLD:
Used stock metal flange then added custom intake design with throttle body on side
Bigger cc injectors (1 inch longer than stock)
Used stock fuel rail for mounting injectors (have to cut in 3 spots)
Mounted fuel distribution block from NOS on the fire wall than ran seperate lines to each injector
Fuel pressure regulator
convert to Return fuel line system
OTHER PERFORMANCE MODS:
Vortech FMU
Unorthadox altanator, power steering and crank pully
High flow cat
Custom exhaust
Short shifter
upper front and upper rear strut bars
lower rear tie bar
18 velox inch rims
Big brake kit
Building custom roll cage in car
NX 25 shot of nitrous for low rpm turbo spooling
NX N-Ter cooler that mounts on intercooler to cool air
Three bottles with heaters and gauges and electric openers
Custom steering wheel from ichiban with buttons for horn and nitrous (custom bracket)
Hondata ECU
What do yall think? possible?

I hope you're loaded ... I'm rebuilding my D16 over winter. She's not getting much money into her because the WHOLE point of me sticking to the D16 was to make her as cheap as possible. She'll be hitting mid13's on street tires + full interior though with minimal built-ness and minimal cash

yes i have the money. i'm shelling out tons for this project. i just like the thrill of smoking a domestic and then opening my hood for them only to find a SOHC 4 cyl. haha. i've got my head work done and all of my "other performce modifications" and i've Bored and sleeved block and gotLower compression racing JE pistons. i'm trying to find some rods tho. thats my problem. i starting to collect my turbo set up now but before i install that i'm converting to a return fuel line system so i can run more pounds of boost. its coming along nicely.
how do you hit mid 13's with a mildly modded D16?? whats your set up?
and this is all in a 2002 honda civic lx coupe.
the problem with it is that it runs rich so i'm getting the S-AFC and i'm gonna run it lean so it'll be LEV and respond beter to upgrades.

Aan FMU is not necessary with a properly tuned Hondata unit. You also need an OBD-I ECM to run Hondata, and I've never heard of anyone putting on in a 7th gen Civic, although I'm not saying it can't be done. Why are you going to get an AFC if you're going to be running Hondata? You really need to do some more research. Too many of your planned mods conflict with one another, and it doesn't seem like you have a grasp of what you're trying to do. 3 nitrous bottles? Come on now, do you honestly think that's necessary for a 25 shot?
