Greddy Garage Sale - Fresh Meet
Feb. 23 began with ideal driving conditions for the GReddy Sale and Performance Festival as the ex-military base in Irvine, Calif., was lined with cars ready to get some TRACK time. This event had something for everyone.
The garage sale part took place in a large tent filled with GReddy gear that was just waiting to be purchased. For those only interested in hanging out, several vendors displayed dozens of show cars. There was a raffle sponsored by GReddy along with free NOS Energy drinks. Best of all, a drift course, autocross circuit, and a pair of skid pads were available for those eager to show off-or win in style, whichever terminology you prefer to use. Honda Tuning is especially proud to report that of the six GReddy enthusiast meet winners, two were Civic Si drivers, and one was an Acura RSX S.
SoCal-based Drift Speed set up groups of Dynapacks and performed dyno runs throughout the day. This of course drew a huge crowd of spectators. Pat Mordaunt, drifting's youngest professional driver, also got some attention with his yellow S14. He proudly displayed the S14's widebody kit, SR20DET engine swap, full suspension, rollcage, and A'PEXi exhaust. But enough with the Nissan nonsense.
As the day progressed, the clouds turned gray and rain began to fall on the event. The only good part about that was the display of fixed-up Japanese cars that inundated Interstate 5, making the event truly complete and rewarding.
