fan speed switch access on 97 accord
Hello,
I have a 97 accord that has a fan speed switch that is bad. How do I get to this part behind the dash? I had the lower portion of the dash out last year when replacing the stereo, but didnt see a way to access this switch.
The AC will not turn on without the fan speed switch having a selection other than "off". Im not sure if it just prys off, but am reluctant to try that.
Any help would be appreciated!
Thank you!

did you pull the knob off, does it work? I had the same problem, turned out the knob gave out and had some play, so it wasn't really working.
if the selector truly is whats wrong, you have to first remove the instrument.

Thanks so much IkeRay,
I just went out and pulled the knob off. It had a big split down the center. You had it diagnosed correct from the beginning!
Thanks again, that saved me some bucks!

save you even more, either go grab one from a pick and pull (stick in your your pocket of cargo pants...$1 part), OR just take a $.30 hose clamp and tighten it up. had mine in the second way for a good 2 1/2 years, going to grab a pick a part one soon enough, finally fixing up the car 100%.

Good idea on the hose clamp. I was thinking some electrical tape to tighten it up, but a hose clamp will be much sturdier.
