whas up everybody i have a 91 ls special edition w/ a 95 gs-r and i was told that the gsr isnt the best motor to have in that car. i was told that a ls or a ls/v-tec would run a lot stronger in my car, is that true or are those ppl just trying to talk me down. thanks alot

The LS/VTEC is not a motor as is the B18C1 or C5 which is the GSR/TYPE-R motors. It is a creation, a hybrid of the ls block and either the SI(B16A1) GSR(B18C1) or TYPE-R(B18C5) head. I think there is 2 other heads that will work too but I cannot recall them at the moment.

There is definitely power to be made with the LS/VTEC, however it has to be built right. Otherwise, what you will have under your hood is a contraption that is just waiting to grenade.

I recommend you tell your friends that the LS/VTEC is an educated build and if you do not know what you are doing, or pay someone to 1/2 ass it then you will be spending twice the dough.

Furthermore, wherever you have emissions, you may run into a problem (like CA) with passing the visual. The head is not assigned to the block and in CA that is a fail.

the best motor to have in your car is a strong, reliable, and efficient running one.

are there LS/Vtec examples that fit that bill? sure, but only if they're done correctly.

as far as "GSR being the best" for your car, that really up to you. what do you use the car for? street racing? cruising around town? autocross? commuter? road course?

Before committing to an LS-VTEC build, read the relevant links in the Integra FAQ.

5) Please do not whore threads to increase your post count.
This isn't honda-tech, so posts only consisting of "+1", ".", or "werd" are not acceptable. If you agree to something someone said, that is great, but don't post unless you have something constructive to contribute. Smiley only posts also fall under this category. These posts will be deleted at a moderator's discretion in lieu of keeping threads tidy and easy to read.
No one here is looking to pick a fight; all we want is an orderly forum with reliable information.
No disrespect... but if you don't know, don't post.

Gimme a break... Im hella not out for points. Besides the bottom end gains a Vtec is so that u can run a tall cam without burning all the gas at cruisin speed. Id build a hybrid. Dont be mean. Ive built so many cars. Think about it...
