Hondas Swarm - Marcus Dairy Meet 2007 - Events
It's good to get some East Coast coverage to help weigh out the obvious West Coast influence typically seen in Honda Tuning. There's an event in upstate New York we've been trying to get covered for months called the Marcus Dairy meet. Last year, our faithful New Yorker liaison Cody Gunsch was crushed to inform us that the event had been cancelled due to bad weather conditions.
This time around, Cody and photographer Vinny Cento were back again and they were able to capture the biggest Marcus Dairy meet ever in high-resolution and with the sun shining. The event is held semiannually in Danbury, Conn., and drew more than 300 cars this time around with more than 750 spectators. Unlike many of the gigs we have here on the left coast, the Marcus Dairy meet is free to all. Its main purpose is to connect like-minded Honda nuts in the Northeast. In fact, aside from Honda Day at Englishtown in August, Marcus Dairy is the East Coast's biggest meet.
Cody says that the Marcus Dairy meet features a higher quality of Honda than some of the other events held on the right coast. This year, the quality was higher than ever before. It's rare to see so many turbocharged contenders in a place where the weather frequently dips low enough to invite snow and road salt-let alone drag cars that never see legalized pavement. There were even a few cars equipped with individual throttle bodies on hand.
