Default How to install Camber kit on 5th Gen Accords (1994 - 1997)

installed a camber kit on my car few weeks ago and decided to do a "how to"

so follow these steps.

*NO NEED TO TAKE OFF THE STRUT EVEN THOUGH IN THE PICTURES MINE'S OFF.
*VERY EASY TO ADJUST AND SHOULD TAKE ABOUT 15 MINUTES PER SIDE TO INTALL AND ABOUT 1/2 HOUR TO ADJUST BOTH.
*DIFFICULTY 2/5

1. Jack up the car from front
2. Remove the driver side tire
3. Pop the hood
4. Remove these two bolts. i think they're 14mm (i forgot)

5. Give each bolt a pop w/ a hammer from top.
6. Pull it down from bottom
7. Now pull it out and twist it around so that the arm points towards the motor.
8. Now remove these bolts and nuts. U'll have to grab em from one side and unscrew the other side.

9. After that comes out, put on the new kit. In this u'll have to make sure u put them in the right way. Remember the camber kit is made to push ur control arm farther away from the body of the car.
* DO NOT TIGHTEN UP THE ADJUSTING BOLTS YET. THIS WILL BE LATER.
just put it back together like u took of the stock ones.

10. Now twist the arm back to its original position and slide those bolts back in to their spot

11. Take the new nuts that came w/ the kit and put them on top and tighten them up real good.

12. Not push teh control arm all the way in, towards the body of the car and tighten up those adjusting bolts using a socket or a wrench (size of the bolt depends on which kit u get) Make sure u tighten them up real good.

13. Put the tire back on.

14. For teh passenger side. Disconnect the negative cable of teh battery.
15. Remove the positive wires going into the fuse box.
16. Remove the fuse box by removing 1 10mm bolt out side the box and sliding it out of the rubber bushings from behind.
17 If ur car has ABS, then remove the fuse box for the ABS.
18. Repeat the same steps from driver side.

Once everything is back together. Remove the jack. Drive it around the block and come back and look at ur tires and see how straight they are.

IF THERE'S STILL NEGATIVE CAMBER
1. Jack up the car from front.
2. Do not take the tires off thsi time.
3. Just reach in there to the adjusting bolts and lossen them.
4. Pull the tires outwards from top very little. You will feel the control arm slide in the kit.
5. This adjustments will be based on how much you think the control arm moved. Hold it at that spot and tighten up the adjusting bolts again and drive around the block and look at the tires again. And keep making adjustments as required.

*****PROBLEMS YOU WILL RUN IN TO************

Your upper control arm will touch the inner fender wall (this means that you have to slide the control arm back in more) You car will not go down when u push on it if that happens. Adn u'll hear wierd noises if u go over bumps.

If you still get negative camber even after sliding the control arm to the farthest possible, then ur only option will be to grind some part of the control arm off and also grind some of the inner fender wall off so that they wont touch.

ALSO WILL BE A GOOD IDEA TO CHANGE OUT THE BALLJOINTS FOR THE CONTROL ARMS AT THAT TIME.
