New TSX Owner

Hello everyone.

I just initiated a lease on a 2008 TSX.

The terms of the deal were too good to pass up:

- Money factor of .00113 (~ 2.7% APR)
- $1,000 dealer contribution
- No security deposit
- Decent appraisal value for my trade (a 2001 Nissan Sentra SE)

Aside from a minor rattle - occasionally noticeable over bumpy road & coming from the dash/windshield contact - the car is everything I was looking for. Great standard feature list, low depreciation (making the lease attractive), good fuel economy, great interior, and excellent dealership sales/service experience.

I've put 600 miles on it so far.

I'll be lurking around here until the lease expires.

M.

Re:

Thanks.

Along with the TSX, I looked at a number of other cars:

Subaru Legacy 2.5 base - incredible value, I loved everything but the seats and the vibration from the boxer engine
Volvo S40 - hated it; literally everything is wrong with that car
VW Passat 2.0T - liked it, but couldn't justify the risk; they are reported to be highly unreliable
Audi A4 2.0T Quattro - good car, AWD is nice, couldn't justify the $5k premium over the TSX
Chevy Malibu - didn't get a test drive, but seemed nice; didn't want to risk first-year trouble
Hyundai Sonata - great car, good value, but relatively high depreciation (poor lease candidate); I might have bought one (especially now w/ the 0% for 60 mo. promotion) but to realize the advantage there I'd have to hold the car for 5+ years which I am not interested in doing

I selected Alabaster Silver Metallic exterior w/ Quartz Leather. A sterile color combination, I know, but I think it looks nice. I didn't like the ebony leather interior (the only other option) - the lack of contrast was disturbing. No Nav (I'm not "there yet") and 5-spd auto (I'm moving to the Northeast when I graduate this December - the traffic is awful).

Anyway - I've attached a few pictures.

Critical to my selection was that the trunk be big enough to fit a collapsed wheelchair (mine). The TSX has a giant trunk.

Sweet. I'm sure you'll love it, Hondas/Acuras are the best bang for the buck IMO.

The price was $27,900 before taxes ($300 in South Carolina), tags/registration, etc. The lease terms I described earlier, for the most part - except to mention that residual is set at 60% (of list) after 36 months ($17,340). I think that's conservative - I may end up buying the car at the end of the term to sell ... or keep driving. I can't really think of another car I'd like much better that wouldn't completely break the bank.
