hard start and black smoke

hard start and black smoke
have an 89 acura legend and every so often i have a hard time starting it i have to hold the gas to the floor to get it started and then have to keep it at high idle for a few to keep it running well of course black smoke comes out when holding gas but seems to run to rich any help on what to look for to fix would be great
