ACURA 2005 RSX-S clutch replacement

My clutch is going out on a leased rsx-s with 32k miles on it. The dealer tells me that it is always required to change the fly wheel if the clutch has burned out. The repairs are quoted at ~ $1500. This is a lease so I dont want to spend more than I have to. Does any one have any advice?

How did a clutch go bad in 32000 miles, I'm working on 60,000 on an 04 typeS??? Oh BTW you are on the hook for the repair on the lease...if the clutch is slipping or not working right when you turn the car in you will be charged for the repair at Honda/Acura's rate.

how are you driving that your clutch is gone already? replacing the flywheel isnt necessary, but having it resurfaced is a good idea.

wow clutch is out w/ 32000 miles, i thought I drove hard. I do drive extremely hard and race every couple of months or so and I still got 88k miles out of my factory clutch in my 03 Si, and it still probably had another 20k left before it was totally trashed. I'd recommend taking it to a private shop, you should be able to find someone to get you out with no more than a $900 bill, they should be able to turn the flywheel, I got my clutch and flywheel installed for $250, I bought a nice exedy clutch an flywheel for $700, so I went high performance and got out only spending $950, but I also have an awesome repair shop
