Speedring Meet: Saturday 10/26
Here's a new thread to make things a little easier to read (original thread: https://www.honda-acura.net/forums/s...0&pagenumber=1)
Where: SpeedRing in Santa Clara (http://www.speedring-kartracing.com)
When: Sat, Oct 26th @ 10:45am (race check-in is 11:45)
BBQ will follow, around 1:30, at Central Park in Santa Clara.
http://cho.ci.santa-clara.ca.us/3041.html#central
it's #9 on this map. SpeedRing is next to #5. all we have to do is go down bowers for a few miles and we're there. nice and easy
http://cho.ci.santa-clara.ca.us/ParkFacilitiesMap.pdf
* there is a chance that the BBQ pits will be taken by the time we get there. if so, the area has a lot of other choices.
Open Practice is basically a 12 minute session on the track, with 14 total drivers at once (you'll get about 18-20 laps). The race is against the clock, not other drivers...so there's no qualifying, etc. The price has gone up to $25/person. Helmets, gloves, and a race suit are provided.
confirmed racers:
1. DakarM **
2. agent87**
3. agent87/guest **
4. inspyral **
5. antarius**
6. Neur0sis**
7. Integ2Envy**

Yeah but my Suomy isn't SNELL approved.
BSI, DOT, Japanese, European approved.
It even passed SNELL they just didnt pay for the approval because the BSI approval does all the SNELL tests and an extra side impact test, so why pay for it.
Weak. Ill bring it anyway just in case. and Riding gloves are hardly good for driving =]. Too stiff (froms weat) and I aint needin no armored knuckles and shiz! hehee.
My helmet rules, so I'll bring it just in case.

If we're gonna spend $50.00 we should do the quick race deal thingy where we get practice, qualifying, and a heat (or is it two heats?)
Rather than just two 18-20 minute sessions.

Can I bring my own helmet?
Yes but it must be at least Snell 95 or newer and it will be checked. If the sticker is gone, it will not be allowed.
I shoulda kept my Arai RX7-RR4 around. hehee.

Yeah they are anal about the Snell approval.
My friend had an older M90 approved helmet so he took the sticker off and they said he can't use it
1 session is cool. anyone have a helmet cam ahahahhaha a
