In Japan, they knife each other. Banning guns doesn't lessen the potential for violence. But if they did have them, the killing would only be worse.

Very true. It seems that violence is an intrinsic part of human nature... But, I wasn't posing the question in terms of violence, but in specifics to shootings... in a country that has banned guns, how many school shootings take place?

I'm not arguing for the banning of guns; I just think control is the best way to realistically handle gun violence.

Also, how many university campuses US-wide have comprehensive gun bans? To my knowledge, they're banned at all the UC's, and I don't think many shootings take place on those campuses...

You can't predict such behavior realistically, and the campus reacted as appropraitely as it could with the info it had at the time...

For you, me, and 90% of the population, that is 100% correct... It's the bad apples that ruin it for us all :hsd:

For some reason, that made me think of this video:

Stupid/incompetent police officers keep me MUCH more in line than the threat of law itself

Isn't this opposite of the arguement you're trying to make?
What about population?

There were only 5 murders in NZ because only 83 people live there.

would be nice if it were that easy, wouldn't it? give the "nutjob" some pills, put him away, and never worry about it again. i mean, who wants to put any real effort into figuring out these problems anyway, right?
