Looks like a Mazda 3 5door body, with Mitsu freelander rear end, and Kia front end.

I can get over the Mazda3 exterior, but that is one ugly interior. Massive step backwards from the GM/Saab-designed one in the current Impreza.

God that grill is hideous. Subaru has failed in each of their last 4 front-ends on the Impreza, yet Saab managed to make the 9-2x look pretty good on their first try. Do Subaru designers just have different tastes than the rest of the world?

Actually, they're being designed by a group of Dutchmen, with an American as the director.

IMO, if the French or the Italians did all the design work for Subaru, we wouldn't have a problem. The Tribeca would look reasonable and this new Impreza wouldn't look like a cut-rate Kia Rio5 clone.

The designers should pay for this with their lives, since consumers aren't going to pay for it with their dollars. I expect they'll be ready to redesign quite soon after it goes on sale, seeing as it won't move more than 3 or 4 units worldwide in its current state.

Hah, Subaru is going where Honda was 2000, taking a stellar product and blandifying it for the masses.

The design isn't bad for the base model Impreza, but when you put on the hoodscoop for the WRX, it just looks awkward.

I'm so glad I got an 07 WRX, same drivetrain but it looks the part.
