reliability is all in the tune and build. start off with an exhaust. then decide if you want to turbo or sc.

Theres guys running 15-21psi on a stock engine in the s2ki forums, but if you are going to supercharge get a vortech superchrager, aem ems, header, exhaust and test pipe lots of guys out thier are running 6-10psi on the stock engine w/o a problem or danger to longevity(tuning is key). All getting 300+ to the wheels. BTW a better clutch, reinforced rear diff would be highly recommended. Also a final drive gear does wonders for s2000's. Go to S2ki.com it will be more helpful on this topic.

2im beginning to feel its not even worth it to boost s2's i mean its like 8k or more by the time your done. i can go buy a used evo and put 1500 into it and run 12's. idunno the idea is sick its just costly. i could do it but id lose alot.

From what i heard the cheap parts (quality wise) will cause you to lose power, and the parts that will make a difference, you have to spend the dough get them. I have also read that not many parts are better the stock, the weak point is the Spring retainers.
IMO you cant compare the S2K and the Evo, they are 2 different cars. it would be like apples and oranges.

Comparing them is exactly like comparing apples to oranges. Stock vs stock, the Evo will be faster from a dead stop. From a roll, they are pretty even.

Look into a 4.57 final drive with comptech reinforced diff. If you want a supercharger, you're going to need an aftermarket clutch and a good tune. If I was getting a supercharger, I wouldn't trust the "tune" that comes with them...get an AEM EMS.

If you want to stay all motor, nothing makes a bigger improvement than the rear end gear. Most people lose power with bolt ons (i/h/e) because they don't get parts that complement each other. Make sure you get components that make power in the same RPM range...IE an intake, header, and exhaust that make either midrange or top end power.
