Broken intake valve
It seems I've got so many deposits on my intake valves that the piston smacked it and it broke on cylinder #4. I have white deposits that have accumulated over time. The question is, why am I running lean??
I can only think of clogged injectors or a potentially failing fuel pump. The timing was set bang on. Sorry for the bad pics but you get the idea.
This is a d15b7 engine with 260,000 miles on it. I guess the next step is new intake valves and a carbon cleaner for the head. The pistons have some deposits but mainly in the middle and are otherwise clean. Since the piston smacked the valve, I'll also need new crankcase bearings? New rings probably too since I'll have to take the pistons out.
