LS/Vtec cant rev!!!!
Hay, I built a LS VTEC about four months ago. It is still running great and has no major problems. I have taken it in for tuneing twice and can not get moke than 150 WHP out of it, it is very disappointing. But there is another problem. On the dyno it dose great, then all of a sudden it stops producing power ot about 7500 RPM. I dont know why. My friends motor can go to 8500 like nothing. 
I have a B18A1 LS block with LS Rods, and crank.
B16a PR3 Pistons with ACL berings, piston rings, and ARP Rod bolts. I hot tanked the block and also hoaned it out. I Used a PR3 B16a Head i had, it has stock springs, valves and retainers, but has Type R cams. I have a Type R intake manifold and headers. 2 1/4 inch piping all the way back with no cat. I have a GSR trans with a ACT stage 2 clutch. Im running a Chipped P28 ECU. With all that I thing it sould do better then 150whp, and it should make power after 7500RPM. What Do You Think???
