Default Good price for motor?

Looking at this motor
http://www.japanracingengines.com/engineview.asp?id=21

Shipping is $200 comes with everything that should be mounted. Then I know a guy in Holland, MI that would put it in and beef it up for $300 plus parts. Is it worth it or keep looking?

Here's the B18c GSR for $2700
http://www.japanracingengines.com/engineview.asp?id=20

It's only got 10 extra HP, is it worth the extra $800? There is also a Type-r B18c for $4k

b18c's have more power and torque. something that b16 doesnt have. if you were to swap the b16 into a crx or eg hatch that would be a different story, but you're not.

the itr b18c is a great engine, but it all comes down to what your ultimate goals are for the car. drag? auto-x? quick daily driver? NA? boost?

boosted B18B > b18c > poop > b16a

I ran a b16a in my civic, and it was a fun little motor, and I miss the redline it had...but it just doesnt have the balls compared to my buddies b18c swapped car. Then you got the b18b which costs next to nothing and can be boosted lightly for cheaper than just the b18c swap alone.

Yeah I'm mostly looking for a quick daily driver. Maybe the occasional auto-x. I'd look into a turbo as long as it's tuned well for a dd. I'll have to look into the b18b, thats only got like ~140ish hp, right?

i think it'd be cool to put a 4g63 engine. you'd have to get custom mounts though as well as other things I'm sure, but it's been done before.

it has less hp but more tq. besides, it takes to boost extremely well.
