cold air from ebay....yes,..no???
hey guys i have a problem. I want a cold air but i know that all of them are pretty much the same, k&n, aem, injen and sooo on but i already have a aem short ram but i was wondering if i could get a coldair from ebay pretty cheap one with a bypass valve and have it on while my engine doesnt get hurt from water but it rains alot here in arkansas. I was also wondering if the bypass valve actually works on protecting your intake mandifol from water, is it true?

id becarefull buying a cheap bypass valve, sence it might not work as well as a better named brand might, and sence and AEM valve isnt that exspensive, why not get that. As far as the actual intake goes, anything will work, the only thing that really makes any difference is the filter thats on the end.

If you just want to waste your money, just paypal it to me.
Since you live where it rains a lot, I would reccomend not getting a CAI (bypass valve or not). Not worth the chance of a hydrolock. Between your current short ram and the CAI, your only looking at maybe a 2-3 horsepower gain.

keep what you have
using the bypass valve just uses more hotair than a regular CAI, so wouldnt even be as much of a difference from a short ram
and if you really want something differet, paint it or something?

keeping it is a good idea and i have already painted, changed filters, and changed the pipes but i just got bored but ill probably just end up keeping since im going for a turbo probably next week or something so yeah thanks anyways guys. Oh yeah and another thing, do you guys think its a good idea to get a 96 gsx turbo and put in my 95 civic, the engine is a d15 b7 so i will only be boosting about 7 pounds
