Probably needs the valves adjusted. Especially at that high of mileage.

Call the place that did the timing belt. I was thinking my 98 Civic EX (same engine-same miles) was about due for a adjustment, but then called my delaler to price and they said they always adjust valves when the do timing belt. Since I had the belt changed their at 90k, I figure the valves are probably good.

Iam going to look into who put on my timing belt .I bought the car 2nd hand
so it might not have been honda that put the belt in but its still sounds like the same problem . Iam thinking about going to go to the dealership to let them hear it and make my move from there. i hope its the valves i will try this first and let you know.

take a handle from a jack and stick it on top of your valve cover, if you hear the ticking then theres a good chance its your valves. you can learn alot that way, you can even hear your injectors squirting. so easy and so free!
