can I put hood lock on stock hood?

thanks guys........ i just bought a 93 civic and the previous owner put a 96 accord radiator in there. it still close but kinda hard. I just don't want it to pop up on the freeway or something

i've seen people rig stuff up to lock the hood down & then for one reason or another, something shifts & the hood fly's up while on the highway smashing the windshield to peices & denting in the roof of the car, they wreck & total the car, if they are lucky the airbag's deploy & save their life. All because they putting the correct parts in there was "to expencive"!
