Default 97 Civic MES Connector

Ok, had airbags replaced. They didn't reset SRS light (it wasn't a honda dealer that did the work, they were the ones my insureance wanted). Figured I do it myself and if that didn't work, then I'd take the time off, make them check it out.

here's the thing. Found the MES connector. Dang thing will not let go of the fuse pannel. won't come out of the dummy holster. didn't seem to be any clips or releases. I'm afraid I'm going to tear the darn fuse system out of the dash, or bust it off.

Any ideas.

there seems to be only one on my model. It's even labeled on the fuse "directory" as SRS. I'm assuming since it's big and yellow and labeled, that it's the one I'm looking for.

you need to replace the SRS computer if the bags deployed it will not reset also if the plug you are refering to in next to the 2 fuses with yellow covers it's NOT the MES connector and will mess it up takeing unplugging it as it's the power plug to the SRS the clip is interlocked to prevent someone from unplugging it. the MES is next to it ans looks like the SCS plug but yellow.

They weren't deployed, they got stolen. Not sure if it results in the same situation. I just though I'd try and reset it before having to take time off from work and take it back to the shop that installed them. I don't have much faith in them at this point.

you were right, there are 2 of them (yellow). I was trying to pull the lower (and bigger one). No way that one is coming out. There is one hiding further up on the board behind a whole cluster of wires. looks like it has the easy clip you described. As I look at it, it has 3 wires running to the connection.

Would someone like to clarify if that's the one I want before I disconnect it?

thanks.

Default Picture will make this easier

Ok. I took a pic of what I see. Funny, there looks like WAY more room than there is. I can barely get my hand up in here.

So, (A) is the one I couldn't get free from the fuse board. (B) come off with an easy clip, but it has 3 wires.

So which do I want?
