Well - before people start to flame this post and say how they think it is stupid... (It is your car do what you want). I'd say I'd wire the hot into the fuse panel and wire it into the "INSTRUMENT - Dash & console lights
LIGHTS" slot. then run the ground to any nearby ground that you can find. This way they will turn on when you turn on your lights.
Extend the wires if you need to - it is nice to wire it in as close to a fuse as you can to limit the damage that can be done - but PLS make sure what you are wirering the ground into is actually a full functioning ground by checking between it and the wire coming from the fuse with a multimeter...
