Default Intake Manifold swap

ok.. i know to most of you this will sound stupid or.. you might think im a ricer.. or whatever.. but i know im not so here goes.

would a intake manifold for a D16Y8 fit on a D16Y7? i would just but a whole new engine like a B16 or B18.. but i dont have the money for it. and i know the D16y7 is the the crappiest engine i can have for a 98' honda civic. I would LOVE to get rid of it (The motor) but again i dont have the money.. so im trying ot work with what i got... Atleast im not trying to put on some gay bodykit or someshit.

any help on this would be greatly Appreciated.

YES! actually it would fit. I had it on my 96 ek with some decent power gain. Now a y8 mani is a direct bold on, buuut you still have to use your y7 throttle body with some custom work to make the cable fit right. You need the thing that the cable wraps around and the spring/coil from a y8 throttle body, and just install it on the y7. This will make the butterfly open the other way to match up with the throttle cable. Also you need a y8 throtle cable... pretty sure the 2 are identical, in my case they were, but if not get the y8 cable and the cable bracket that is held on to the intake mani by 2 screws. Took me soooo long to figure out how to make that stupid cable fit right, but guy at local performance shop told me this... very helpful and worth wile
