question| Increased Flow, Horsepower And Torque
i own a '00 lx; stock engine
want to know how to Increase Flow, Horsepower And Torque.
right now all i got is a 3a racing exhaust but want to know of upgrading to magnaflow is a good idea
i want to do a swap and im lookin for a v tec motor, but until then i want to know what can i do to this engine
can a bolt on turbo be a good idea?

forced induction would be the best choice. Magna flow cat backs sound nice, and wouldnt be a bad choice if you found a system for cheap. Don't expect much power from that engine unless your doing forced induction or a nitrous application.

you can get small, but decent gains from upgrading things like the intake, throttle body, header, cat, and all the exhaust piping for better flow. you'll see slight horsepower and torque gains.
as far as swaps, it all depends on what you're willing to spend and what you plan to do. there are a lot of different swaps. research all of them, i believe there is a thread somewhere about them. mini-me swaps, B16s, B17s, B18s (GSR/LS), LS VTEC, CR-VTEC, F22, H22, H23, K20s and beyond.
if you ware thinking of a turbo kit, consider which motor you'll be using. some are yeild better gains than others, while some are easier to set up than others. don't forget.... whatever motor you use with a turbo kit is going to need the internals ungraded, fuel system upgraded, and ECU upgraded. deffinately try searching for swaps and turbos... don't try to throw something together w/o research. you'll be glad u researched.

thank you
i am actually doing sum research on the engines
but before i do that
imma go with ya first reply, i think this is more money saving right?
and i did find a full magnaflow exhaust system for 350 bucks, u think thats a good price?

are these systems good?

are they complete?

been there done that
dont even bother with bolt on's with that engine. you'll spend almost a grand for a whole lot of noise and very little go. and then when you do the swap most of those things will not be reuseable. just keep saving for a swap.

if you want some quick HP, id deffinatley say go with forced induction. but if you got some money and want to stay NA, id go with an LS or GSR swap. They typically put out around the same amount of power if you put a 1.6 head on the LS and do the swap right. if it were me id go with the LS/vtec. it is alot cheaper to an extent. you will have to drill the block for vtec which isnt cheap and you ahve to take the internals out. they are both quick and around the same price if you have to get someone to swap it for you.
hope this helps at all
