Default HID headlight ballast

hey guys. Last night when i went to turn on my headlights i noticed only one headlight turns on.
LEft side works
Right side doesnt

When I turn the headlights on you could see the right headlight kind of goes on for about 2 seconds then turns off.
I guess the bulb is good and the ballast may of gone bad.
Would ya'll agree with that?

hard to say.

what kind of HID setup are you using? 9006 kit or a retrofit?

I remember in my VW i had that problem also but i dont remember if i replaced the bulb or the ballast.

shit, I might as well buy a new kit. What do you guys think of McCulloch kit?

i found this. if its my ballast that needs replacement I could just get one.

Do you hear the ballast ignite? Have a friend turn your lights on for you, you should hear a "zap" coming from the units.

I'd take the bad side's bulb and plug it into the good ballast. See if the bulb lights up, if not, you have a bulb issue.

I havent tried that.
It looks like it starts it but it just doesnt stay on.
I guess the starter put in the ballast works but something else might not.
Thats why I think the bulb does work.

Ill try to use my left side bulb and see if it works.

Thanks

did you use a harness?

swap the right ballast to the left side, if it doesnt work, then the ballast is toast

swap the right bulb to the left side, if it doesnt work, then the bulb is toast

ill try that later on.

Does it matter if the ballast is different? would it make the bulb a different color?

a ballast is a ballast is a ballast.

color temp is bulb specific.

if you need a replacement, stick with hella, phillips, matsushita, or any other oem brand
