Default 98 Accord is just cutting off1

My wife's car is just cutting off on her as she is driving down the road. Interstate or city driving it doesn't matter. Didn't know if it was the coil, fuel problems, or cat problems

What else would you like to know. I do have my engine light on and the code is the famous Cat code, but it's been on a long time. This just started doing this the past month or so.

Oh...silly me. I thought you said 89 and not 98. It's the ignition switch I believe. Wasn't there a recall on your car for it? There was on mine.

no problem, the 89 civic in my sig is mine. I'm talking about my wife's Accord. So how do I find out if the recall is still in effect and if they will do it.

Call the dealer and they'll be able to tell you.

http://www.autorecalls.us/aut-04/rec...ord/40221.html

That's it right there.

Recall Date:
2002-05-16

Summary:
ON CERTAIN SEDANS, COUPES, HATCHBACKS, AND SPORT UTILITY VEHICLES, ELECTRICAL CONTACTS IN THE IGNITION SWITCH CAN DEGRADE DUE TO THE HIGH ELECTRICAL CURRENT PASSING THROUGH THE SWITCH WHEN THE VEHICLE IS STARTED.

Consequences:
WORN CONTACTS COULD CAUSE THE ENGINE TO STALL WITHOUT WARNING, INCREASING THE RISK OF A CRASH.

If the recall isn't it (or the ignition switch which you might can check by jiggling it around while parked))...look for the obvious stuff like a corroded or bad battery or chassis ground....even the pos side....loss of battery connection.
