Default Anyone use Mobil 1 Extended Performance Oil?

I'm looking for opinions from anyone who's used the Mobil 1 Extended Performance oil. I've got a '98 Accord (4 cyl), now has 80k miles on it, and have always used Mobil 1 Synthetic Oil (5w-30). I'm thinking about switching over to this new oil, Mobil 1 Extended Performance 5W-30 (synthetic oil), which the company guarantees for 15k miles or 1 year. My car is not driven rough, just the normal mostly highway commute back and forth, usually less than 15k miles per year.

What about the oil filter? Obviously a "normal" oil filter probably won't last anywhere near 15k miles. Mobile 1 has an oil filter that goes along with this oil, Mobil 1 Extended Performance Oil Filter. Anyone use the K&N Performance Gold Oil Filter? I'm deciding whether to get the Mobile 1 filter or go with the K&N filter, what do you guys think?

How is it the same, please explain? Then why is the "regular stuff" like Penzoil, etc like a little over $1/qt. and the Mobile is close to $5.50/qt? Correct me if I'm wrong, but I've never ever seen the "regular stuff" give you a 15k mile guarantee, or any guarantee what-so-ever anytime.

My family has a '93 and two '96 Accords, all with the 2.2 engine. They've always had regular Mobil 1 10-30 most of their lives. I change filters at 5,000 and oil and 10,000. All three cars ae nearing 200,000 with no issues. I've gone to extended service Mobil 1 and will go the 15,000 miles between changes, changing filters at 7,500.

I think Jerry's saying it's the same as 'regular' Mobil 1 synthetic. Still, it isn't the same. Check bobistheoilguy.com for details, but I'm pretty sure there's a larger dose of additives in the long-life stuff. Look for virgin oil analyses & check out the TBN values...

Mobil 1 does NOT guarantee anything (read the disclaimer on the bottle). Mobil 1 EP has more cleaning and other additivies but there is NO WAY I would use it for one year or 15k in my car.

I change my fully synthetic oils (10-40 in summer and 0-40 in winter) every 4k with Mobil 1 filters. I use Castrol Syntec 10-40 in summer and Mobil 1 0W-40 in the winter.
