Anyone know where can I find some good deals on them & lubricant to use with them?

Most places I've found are freaking expensive. And Mother's kit is too small to do couple cars

I bought the Meguiars kit, it came with two pieces of claybar. It was under $20.

You can order a kit through us. The major difference is the size of the bar. Ours are 200g and are good to cut up into 4-5 pieces to use at different times. Typically what you'll see in the store are 50g or 80g bars so you get a lot more with our kits. We also have different grade bars, fine and medium.

1. When used once, the surface of the clay will be contaminated, should I shave that up afterward?
2. What ELSE can be used as clay lube? Any quick spray on detailer? How about soap suds?

1. You can shave it or turn it "inside out" until the dirt on the surface disappears.

2. I use a soap/water mixture which I think works better than any spray wax out there.

Yep, keep kneeding it in a ball then flattening out the surface to a somewhat clean area. It may be discolored but that will be ok to use. If you have a large enough piece of contamination in there, pick it out completely or trash the clay piece and get another one.

You can use any quick detailer for the most part or a mix of shampoo and water. Generally speaking (referring to the post below yours) spray waxes are not good clay lubricants. There are many variations of "quick detailers".

- Ones with lots of cleaning power (which I like for clay use)
- Gloss enhancing quick detailers with no protection
- Carnauba based quick detailers for minimal protection and a wet look
- Polymer based quick detailers for more protection and a slick surface
