Default New Fit for me?

I just thought I'd chime in...

I'm far from certain but I'm considering a Fit Sport and trading in my Prelude (which may be too much of a power decrease) but my Prelude is getting a bit torn out milage wise and cosmetic wise....and I don't get to take it out onto the highways and open it up. My drives are all bumper to bumper traffic...

So I'm thinking about a Fit (or a used Mazda 3, or shutting the hell up and keeping my Prelude).

I may go see if I can get a test drive this weekend if the dealers have them in yet.

What's wrong with the Mazda? I have a friend with a M3 and I quite like it.

I got an out the door quote on a Fit today, cheapest was $17,600 which to me is a bit pricey for a 109 HP car

I'd like an M3, too. but thats a bmw.

if you like it the mazda, power to you.

109 hp goes a long way in a car that weighs under 2500lbs

keep in mind, its not a sports car. but that doesn't mean its not sporty.

if you judge a car by only its horsepower rating, you are not a wise driver/consumer.

Well no, I used to own a 1986 Prelude Si which if memory serves was 110HP of zippy goodness
but I still think Honda would do good to get the pricing down on the Fit a little bit. My mind goes at $17,6 why not look at a Civic LX or a used RSX

the Fit comes with more standard features (side curtain air bags, abs brakes, air conditioning, decent stereo)...where something like the really cheap Yaris has no abs, air con, or side air bags...all of these are standard...in fact when you option up a Yaris with equipment to match the Fit they cost the same but the Fit out accelerates and out handles the Yaris...only the suzuki reno was as quick as the Fit Sport in 0-60...but nothing could outhandle it

for cheap wheels built cheaply...that's the Chevy Rebadged Daewoo Aveo...the Fit is the cream of the crop in sub compacts

my first Honda was an 85 Prelude DX...108 hp from a 1.8 with dual carbs but that car could move pretty quick and outhandle most of its competition

I just bought a fit, after 6 years of owning an EG6, the fit is a solid car, and is great on gas especially these days, Its torsionally stiffer than any Civic Ive ever owned (4) but the Mcpherson Struts kinda bug me. Its too new for me to say how fast it is, but Im not holding my breath bec. its not a sports car. The K20 idea really gets me excited...
