Default clunking noise?

car: 94 accord LX 4cyl, auto

noise: faint clunking coming from the driver's side, in the footwell area. only happens when accelerating from a standstill, and sometimes its audible when the car shifts gears.

i thought it was a loose interior panel somewhere down there, but it only happens at very specific times. could it be the axle? the CV joints aren't clicking at all. any ideas?

thanks

my clunk comes from the camber kits i put in...considering your's is probably stock then it would probably suspension related.

there is just a space between the control arm and camber kit, im sure it messes with my alignment but hundreds of miles so far and nothing has fallen off.

also you can check the nut on top of the strut...those were loose on the camry and made a horrible clunking soun even over the sligtest of bumps

wes, do you do most of the maintenance yourself? how hard is it to change the axles?

Check the motor mounts.

Put in drive, hold brake, rev engine if clunk is heard it is a motor mount.
u could also try going into reverse. go back and forth but dont shift rapidly

Have you checked your sway bar links? uhm maybe you should carefully lift your front-end and check for any play in the ball joints, tie rods, and anything else.
