'99 Accord idle surge
Yes I'm a noob on these forums and yes I have used the search function. (just wanted to get that out of the way)
I found many posts asking for help about the FITV and the IACV, some pics, etc...
However these are all for 5th gen and lower Accords. I have a 6th gen 1999 4cyl auto Accord that has a surging idle after warming up. Is it the IACV?
I just want to be sure because <'97 are not the same engines.
And if so is it as simple as cleaning it or do I have to replace it?
If I have to replace it does anyone know of a good place to buy it that's not that expensive? Or anyone have a good used one for sale?
Thanks

Not in a long time. The car has been sitting for about a year because of transmission problems but we're going to get it rebuilt in the next week or so.
I wanted to take care of this idle problem as well, of course we will do a tune-up, but I would like to find out what causes this behavior in the first place, if I can fix it myself then even better. I don't have a problem paying for a tune up I just want to get my hands dirty a little.

well if your car isn't getting the proper spark it will throw off your idle and the car will sound rough. before you leap to an expensive conconlusion always check your plugs/cap/rotor. you should be changing your plugs ever 30K.

Ok, I've done the following:
replaced cap, rotor, wires, spark plugs, thermostat, coolant.
Surging idle is still there!
The last thing to check would be the IACV?
I've read online that IACV is all about cold idle though, not once the car is warmed up. So what's up with that?
The car idles fine when cold, once it's warmed up it starts surging, and at each surge the exhaust kind of... farts.
