im not sure how much your reserve tankk is but after the light comes on, it usually statts to go into your reserve tank (mine is 3 gallons and a 1990)

Drive till the light comes on, get gas, see how much it takes, see how big your fuel tank is, do the math. Not hard. I can get 40-50 miles out of mine comfortably, 80 if I'm pushing it.

You shouldn't run your car that low on gas. Running out of gas (or getting close to it) can cause your engine to misfire, possibly causing engine damage, but more likely causing damage to the catalytic convertor (uncombusted fuel leaves the engine with the exhaust, causing the catalytic convertor to overheat and damage) and those arent cheap to replace
