Replacing front bumper air bag sensor
2003 Honda Accord.
Is this something I can do? How involved is it. I'm a moderate mechanic. My daughter hit a post with the front bumper and now the air bag light stays on on the dash. I called the Honda dealer and they said it would caost $85 to run diagnostics then $167 to remove the front bumper to check the sensor to see if it's damaged. da.. This does not include replacing the sensor and the cost of the part. Is there one on each side?

you should have it diagnosed first, as SRS parts are expensive and you wont want to replace a sensor if its not bad. Besides the fact that you can be seriously injured or killed by an accidentally deployed airbag.
Have it checked out first to see exactly what the problem is...

well, i correct myself... the front sensors are $38 each... not as bad as I thought... but still nothing you should be playing around with. The SRS systems are very sensitive.
