"Fully loaded" 2006 Accord VP question
My girlfriend and I were looking around at cars last night, and saw two 2006 Honda Accords at the local dealer that were marked VP for like $19k each. However, they were far from the typical Value Package ones I've seen.
- 15" Alloy wheels
- Automatic transmission
- Sunroof
- Cruise Control
- "Plether" interior instead of cloth
and a host of other features that were thrown in that are typically LX or EX features.
Typically the VP is stripped down so hard there is not even cruise control, this thing was loaded with about everything I'm looking for, for a great price. I'm going back today to drive them and see if I wanna buy it, but WHY are these two cars marked VPs, with all this stuff, so cheap? They look like higher models, except for the black door handles and mirrors which I don't really mind.
Are these like "sport model" VPs or should I stay away from these cars?

I don't know for sure, I have not been in the car yet. Don't you think if they went to all that trouble the car would be priced higher than 19k though? Just pricing a new VP off their website with what this car has in it not including a sunroof (not an option on their site) it was closer to 22k.

The VP (Value Package) replace the DX for the lowline for
2006. They did add AC, and cruise control(which you couldn't even
order on The DX).The dealer can add leather to any car from a
aftermarket vender. I think the VP is a good deal myself.
Value Package
166-hp, 2.4-liter, 16-valve DOHC i-VTEC 4-cylinder engine
Drive-by-Wire Throttle System
5-speed manual transmission
Available 5-speed automatic transmission
Double wishbone front suspension
Front side airbags with passenger-side Occupant Position Detection System (OPDS)
Side curtain airbags
Anti-lock braking system (ABS)
Daytime Running Lights (DRL)
Chrome exhaust finisher
Air conditioning with air-filtration system
Cruise control
Tilt and telescopic steering column
Maintenance Minder system

I do agree with 98CoupeV6 about being aware of crappy sunroof
install. As for leather, I like my Classic Soft trim, and has worn very
well. But I doubt the VP's mentioned has the good stuff since it
would cost $1300 or more installed.
