Default Accord EX Vs. Acura TSX

How is it that the same company can have two very different cars producing close to the same numbers, considering that they are very opposite? I am looking to purchase either an 05 EX Coupe or a TSX Sedan. the Acura has better MPG, Trim, etc....
So why is it that everyone, and thier Mom, owns the Accord? The price is close to the same, the performances are close..... What am I missing, and which way should I lean?
Thanks in advance!

an 05/06 EX V6 six speed is a better car than the TSX. The brute force of the 260HP vs 200 is extremely noticable. Sure the TSX can take a corner better, it's nothing the AV6 couldn't do with modifications.

V6 EX + suspension + etc should handle just as well as the tsx.

mmm, OEM HID! Plus, the gas mileage... that does it for me = TSX. The Accord is getting way overpriced too!

TSX
Base Engine Size: 2.4 liters
Horsepower: 205 hp
Torque: 164 ft-lbs.
Manual: 21 mpg / 30 mpg

Accord V6
Base Engine Size: 3 liters
Horsepower: 244 hp
Torque: 211 ft-lbs.
Manual: 21 mpg / 30 mpg

People forget that the TSX is a large, high reving I4. On paper, from Honda, there is no MPG difference between the 2 cars.

Have you considered taking a test drive?

oh c'mon now, if you wanna REALLY want to be picky.
for me it's fairly simply
Acura => Luxury Badge
Honda => average joe badge.

also, the TSX is a DOHC while the V6 is STILL a friggin' SOHC. You have to look inside both cars also, the TSX, from what I've heard from owners, is a bit more spacious inside and "feels" better. I'm sure it's the same for the V6 Sedan, but the TSX looks "prettier," which for some people, eye candy matters a lot.

Either way, you can't go wrong.
I personally would enjoy the TSX because of it's DOHC, but some people really don't care about things like that. Also, look at the long run of things, are you planning on doing mods? The TSX is not as accessible in modications because their aftermarket parts cost an arm and a leg, where as the V6 is much much more common.

Come on now, a I4 pushing well into the 200HP stock, that sounds very sexy to me. It's relative to taste, style, and perference.

Lastly, like 98CoupeV6 suggested, take a test drive. See which one makes you feel sexier...lol.

it's all in the torque. 164 isn't too great and to achieve that, you'll have to be at redline.

The Acura carries the luxury name, but what good is luxury when your 30K machine can't match the HP of a 20K Civic?

The Av6 is the better bang for the buck.
