Default Sulfur Smell in Cabin and a PO420 DTC.

My Wife's 1998 Honda Accord EX 2.3L 4cyl 5spd. has had a condition where after about 5 minutes of driving there is a faint smell of sulfur (rotten eggs) inside the cabin. She blames it on me, but it's not me.

Also her check engine light came on last night. The code reads out as P0420 which seems to point at a bad cat converter or a large vacum leak.

Has anyone had any experience with these symptoms? The car is in great shape otherwise with only 70K miles.

Are there any good test for Cat Converters?

Could the Issue be related to am O2 sensor???

Any help will be appreciated....

sulfur = bad cat

rotten eggs = bad cat or mildew/mold in the AC unit.

rotten eggs = sulfur = bad cat h:

You can definitely blame your wife for this one because if a cat goes at 70k miles it's typically due to only being driven short distances or frequently being stopped/started before the cat can warm up fully
